We take customer feedback very seriously here at VeriClock and we are thrilled to announce a number of product updates that have been requested by many of our customers.
This release introduces customizable overtime rule sets, allowing employers to automate overtime calculations based on daily, weekly, and specialized labor requirements. Organizations can now configure multiple overtime rule groups for different employee classifications, ensuring accurate wage calculations across varied pay structures.
Each rule set supports flexible configurations, including different pay rates for overtime versus straight time, overtime thresholds based on hours worked per day or week, time-of-day premiums, consecutive days worked, specific days of the week, and holiday pay rules. These enhancements strengthen payroll compliance, reduce manual adjustments, and improve export accuracy for integrated accounting and payroll systems.
Overtime Rulesets
With this new feature, your team now has the ability to classify time precisely and with more specificity to allow the ability to apply different overtime rates to selected employees or groups.
Hour Rules - Hours Per Day/Week
In addition to # of hours per/day and specific days of the week, rules can now have specific criteria that spans specific days, and time of day as well. These can be applied separately, or in tandem to allow complex rules that apply to specific days of the week and a range of time for that selected day.
Day Rules - Consecutive Days
Keeping track of regional labor laws can be arduous. Our addition of the ability to track overtime based off number of days worked consecutively allows you to ensure your team is being fairly compensated for work done, and you are staying compliant with your local regulations.
Day Rules - Day of the Week
Not every team counts calendar weekends as eligible for overtime. Our advanced rule allows you to select specific days of the week where a designated rate can be automatically applied.
Day Rules - Special Calendar Dates
With this configuration, you are able to specify specific calendar dates that will qualify for a special rate (like Christmas for example), so that a designated rate applies to any clock in events on those specified dates.
Week Rules
You can now set a multiple overtime threshold for a week. For example, a daily clock in may not trigger an overtime event, but their total time for the week may exceed your weekly limit, and will trigger application of your designated rate.
You can also set different rates for different thresholds - for example, an employee working more than 35 hours a week can be paid 1.5x and if the same employee works more than 50 hours that week, they will be paid 2x.
