Learn how to configure Advanced Overtime Rules by Day of Week in VeriClock to accurately classify overtime hours based on daily thresholds, specific times of day, or designated dates. This guide explains how to apply advanced overtime criteria within a ruleset, assign overtime rates to selected days, time ranges, or special dates, and ensure overtime is calculated correctly for employees based on when and how hours are worked.
Advanced Overtime rules allows you to create multiple Overtime Rule Sets. Each Rule Set can be assigned to one or more employees and can includes one or more rules that define Overtime hours. Rules can be configured to apply to:
- Hours worked in a Day (This Guide)
- Hours worked in a payroll week (as defined by your payroll settings work week)
- Hours worked on Consecutive days
- Hours worked on Special Dates

This guide will show you how to set up Advanced Overtime Rules based on the Day of Week:
Step 1: Select the rule type (Option 1)
Note: For the following options, you can select one or many of the options to apply. To select each option, check the box beside the desired criteria
Step 2: Select from one or several of the options:
Option 2: Select this option to so that hours worked after a specific number will be classified at the overtime type selected
Option 3: When enabled, this option allows overtime rate selected to be automatically applied to a specific Time of Day range as specified. Note: time must be noted in 24H format
Option 4: This option allows you to apply overtime to a specific date - Note: all hours in the specified date with be classified as the overtime type selected
