Learn how to set your company payroll period in VeriClock to ensure accurate overtime calculations, payroll reports, and timecard signatures. This guide explains how to configure weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly pay periods, select the correct cutoff dates, and verify payroll settings using reports.
Setting your company pay period start and end days will determine your week for overtime, pay period reports, or for sending out timecard signatures. The Choose a recent payroll date, or Last half of the month's payroll ends on, or Select the day of the month your pay period ends, inclusive of hours worked needs to be the last day of your pay period, as this day determines your week for overtime.
For example, if your payroll is weekly and your week starts on a Monday, then the Choose a recent payroll date will need to be set to end on a Sunday for your pay period to start and stop on the correct days.
Once you set your pay period, we recommend running a report with your Period: set to Previous pay periods to confirm the pay period dates are set as needed.
