Learn how to use schedule templates in VeriClock to quickly build and reuse weekly employee schedules. This guide explains how to create templates from existing shifts, apply one or multiple templates to future weeks, manage draft shifts, publish or clear templates, and efficiently update schedules while keeping employee, job, and shift details consistent.
Creating a schedule template involves adding shifts to a week, until you have built a schedule you want to save for use again at a future date.
The following fields are copied into the template
- Employees/Group assignment
- The job
- The service item
- The day of the week
- Start time and duration of the shift
The only portion of the template that will be different is the date each shift occurs, as that date will change based on the week the template is copied over to.

Create A Template
Add shifts to individual days, building a schedule week until the desired schedule is built. When ready to save the schedule week as a template, click on Templates → click on Add this week as a Template.
Name the template → then click on Create Template to save this schedule week template.
Use A Saved Schedule Template
Navigate to the week you wish to apply a template to → click on Templates → select the template name you want to use.
When using a template, shifts will be displayed as Drafts until either published or deleted.
Click the Publish button to publish all drafts for the calendar week displayed.
- Click Clear Drafts to delete all drafts from the week displayed.
- Click on an individual shift to edit, publish, or delete that draft one shift at a time.
Apply Multiple Templates To The Same Week
Multiple templates can be added to the same calendar week. By creating a template for each group or job, templates can be added to build a complete schedule covering all active employees or jobs.
How To Delete A Schedule Or individual Shifts From A Calendar Week
If a template has been mistakenly added to a calendar week, the schedule can be deleted by clicking on Clear Drafts (located near the top on the right hand side of the screen). If Clear Drafts is not visible on your screen, then all drafts have already been published for the calendar week displayed on the screen.
Once published, shifts can be removed from a calendar week a single shift at a time by clicking on each individual shift and then clicking the garbage can icon. To delete all shifts from the entire schedule week, scroll down to the bottom left corner of your page, and click on Delete this week's schedule.
