Learn how employees can reset their own VeriClock login password or how admins and managers can send a password reset email from the employee profile. This guide also explains how to confirm delivery using email logs and resolve common login errors, such as missing reset emails or “invalid username or password” messages.
When an employee cannot remember their password to login, the employee can reset their own password from the login screen, or an admin/manager can send the employee a password reset to an employee.
Send An Employee A Password Reset
An Admin/Manager can send a password reset to an employee’s email address from the tabs: Employees-->click the blue Edit button to the right of the employee name-->in the employee profile ensure the employee has an email address added, as password resets can only be sent to the email address listed in the employee profile here-->check the box to ‘Send Password Reset Email to Employee’ -->scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue OK button. see Adding Employees for more information.
The employee should now get a password reset sent to the email address listed in their employee profile where they can reset their password and then log in.
Confirm Delivered Status of Password Reset Email
In your account you can confirm an employee was sent a password reset by navigating to your account tabs Help-->Email Logs -->under Type change to Employee Invitations if a welcome email was sent from the employees profile, or change the Type to Password Reset if a password reset was requested by the employee/or if a password reset was sent from the employee profile -->select the applicable search period-->click the blue Search button. see View Your Account Email Logs for more information.
Resolving Errors
- **If no password reset was delivered, then check the employee’s email address to confirm the email address in the employee’s profile is correct.**
- **If the email status is marked as Not Sent, then click on the
error to determine what the issue is that is causing the error.**
- **If the employee is getting an ‘invalid username or password’ error when they are logging in, then send the employee a new password reset.**
