Learn how to create and customize clock in and clock out instruction cards in VeriClock based on your account settings. This guide explains how to generate instructions for app, web, phone, and SMS clock-ins, configure job codes, service items, reports, PIN requirements, and share printable or email-ready instruction cards with employees in English or Spanish.
Employee clock in/out Instruction cards can be created and customized based on your account settings. Once an instruction card is created, it can be copied and pasted into an email to send to employees or printed out from the instruction card page. Instruction cards are available in English or Spanish language.
- To create instruction cards based on your account settings, go to Help → Instruction Cards.
- Select the clock in method employees will be using. See Clock In Options with VeriClock

Set up instructions based on your account settings. Select features in instructions only if these features are enabled in your account:
- Job Codes - To see your job code settings, go to Jobs → Rules → job codes can be set as Disabled, Optional, Required or Customized.
- Service Items - To see your service items settings, go to Settings → Service Items → Rules. Service Item codes can set as Disabled, Optional, Required or Customized.
- Clock In/Out Report - To see your clock in report and clock out report settings, go to Settings → Web → look under Clock In Report and Clock Out Report. If Use Global Settings is selected → reports can be set as Disabled, Optional or Required. If Use Employee Settings is select, go to Employees → click on the blue Edit button to the right of the employee name → scroll down to Advanced Web Settings → look under Clock In Report and Clock Out Report → can be set as Disabled, Optional or Required.
- Voice Reports (phone in clock in only) - To see your voice report settings, go to Settings → Phone. Clock in/out Voice Report can be set as Disabled, Optional or Required. If Use Individual Employee Settings is select, go to the tab Employees → click the blue edit button to the right of the employee name → scroll down to Advanced Phone Settings → look under Clock In Voice Report and Clock Out Voice Report → can be set as Disabled, Optional or Required.
- P.I.N # (SMS/phone in clock in only) - To enable Phone/SMS Pin, go to the tab Employees → click the blue Edit button to the right of the employee name → scroll down to Advanced Phone Settings → enable the box next to this feature → create a custom PIN for each employee → scroll to the bottom of the page and click the blue Save button.
- SMS text reports (SMS clock in only) - To see your SMS text report settings, go to Settings → Phone → Settings → scroll down to SMS Text Report → set as Required, Optional, or Disabled.
