Keeping your team informed in real time is crucial for productivity and accountability. In this guide, we’ll show you how to send in-app notifications in VeriClock, helping you stay connected with your field workforce and ensure important updates are never missed.
In-App Notifications are a way to communicate with your team for any reminders, notices or important communication. Notifications can be created and sent from a web browser by an account admin or manager, and can be read by any user from either a web browser or from the VeriClock app. To access notifications, click on the envelope icon.
For information on viewing which employees have notifications enabled in their device, see App Notification Roster
Send a Notification
- To send a notification, click on the envelope icon and then click on the Send tab.
- Select the names to send a notification to.
- Enter a subject line that employees will be able to read before opening the notification.
- Write a message.
- Click the blue Send button to send the notification out, or the red Cancel button to cancel a notification from being sent.
Confirm a Notification was Sent
- After clicking send, confirmation will be displayed that the notification was successfully sent to the user. The notification can be viewed when the user logs into VeriClock through the web or the app.
- If a user does not have an updated version of the app or has not downloaded the app, a message indicating this will be displayed.
Unread Notifications
When a user has an unread notification, a red ‘New’ notification will be displayed next to the mail icon. This New notice will be displayed for all users including admin, when that user has any unread notifications.
View Notifications
To read a notification, click on the View tab. An unread notification will display the message blurry to show that message has not yet been read. Once a message has been read, the message will be visible and displayed in a lighter gray.
Read a Notification
To read a notification, click on the one you wish to read. All details of the message will be displayed, including: the sender, date sent, subject, message, when the message was received and when it was first read. After reading a notification, it can be deleted or left to view at a later date.
View Sent Logs
Click on the Sent Logs tab to view sent notifications. Sent logs display a list of recent notifications, the date each notification was sent, all users a notification was sent to, and when each user has read that notification.
The color surrounding a user name indicates the read or unread status for each notification.
- Gray lists each user that has not opened their notifications since the notification was sent out.
- Green shows each user that has read a notification.
- Blue shows any users that have clicked on the notification tab, but have not read the notification. A user's name will remain outlined in blue until that user reads the notification.
View Details for a Sent Notification
To view additional details for any sent notification, click on an individual notification in the Sent Logs tab. Sent log details include: when a notification was sent, who sent it, the subject, the message, all names the notification was sent to, the date the notification was received but not read, and the date the notification was read.
Employee View
Employees can only see the View tab in their notifications. An employee can see when each notification was sent out and can reread a notification message without clicking on the notification. See View Notifications In The App for more information.
Unread notifications will have the message blurred out until the user has clicked on the notification to read all message details. Employees can delete a notification from view, when they no longer wish to display the notification.
Who Can Send Notifications
Only Admin and managers can send notifications. Account admins can send notifications to all users, while managers can only send notifications to users they are set to manage. If an employee needs to send a notification, an admin will first need to set that employee as a manager. Click see here for our guide on setting up managers and groups.
