This article helps employees sync their offline clock events when they do not have an internet connection. Learn how to upload and sync time data once you're back online, ensuring all your hours are tracked accurately.
Offline Clock can be used as a way to record your clock in and out when offline due to:
- No data connection
- No Wi-Fi access
- Location with spotty service
**Offline clock works when clocking in/out using the VeriClock app.
Offline Clock Access
First, your VeriClock account administrator will need to enable Offline Clock access for you if that option is available for your account.
Clock In and Out while Offline
Once enabled, you will be able to clock in and out as normal. Any clock in/out events recorded while you are offline will be stored in your app until you are back online.
To confirm you are offline, tap on the app menu icon in the top left corner of your app.
The bottom left corner of your app menu will display your status with the words Online in green, or Offline in red text.
Sync Offline Clock Events:
Your employer cannot see your unsynced events and won't know you have hours until you sync your events from your app. To sync your clock events, open your VeriClock app.
In the top left corner of the app, tap on the app menu icon.
Any unsynced events will show up on this page.
When you are online, events will automatically sync to your employer's account. If you see unsynced events on this page, tap the Sync Events button. Note: You must be connected to data or wifi to sync time events.
Confirm All Events are Synced
If all events have been synced to your employer's account, the Sync Events page will show the words 'No unsynced events,' and the Sync Events button will not be clickable.
Sync Event Page Errors
If you are still offline, you wont be able to sync your app events until you open your app at a location where you either have data or wifi access.
If you try to sync your events when offline, the page will display an error directing you to check your internet connection and try again once you have reconnected to the internet.
If you are connected to the internet and your events will not sync, you will need to contact VeriClock support for help.
VeriClock support will first ask you to submit your app logs so they can see what is happening in your app when the Sync Events button does not sync your events. For information on sending in your app logs, see this guide: How to Send Your Data Logs from the VeriClock App
If you get an error when sending your app logs, the VeriClock support team will be happy to help you. You can email the support desk at help@vericlock.com and describe the issue you are experiencing with your app.
