Learn how to set up upcoming shift reminder notifications in VeriClock. This guide explains how to configure global or per-shift reminders, choose notification timing and delivery methods, set default reminders for all shifts, and ensure teams are informed and prepared ahead of scheduled work hours.
Automatic notifications can be sent to employees, managers and admins to remind them that a shift is about to start.
Global shift reminders (One rule auto-applied to all scheduled shifts) can be set from the tabs Settings--> Scheduling--> click Add Alert--> select the desired rule-->click Save to save any changes.
For per/shift reminders, go to Schedule-->click the + icon to create a shift, or edit an existing shift.
Remind user of upcoming shifts
When creating a shift, you can click on the Add Alert --> Reminder link and add up to 3 Reminder Alerts.
Each reminder can be set with the following options:
- When the notification should be sent (i.e. number of minutes before the shifts starts)
- Who should receive the notifications
- The notification method(s)
- Any special message you want to include in the notification (optional)
- Any additional people that should receive the alerts (optional)
Shift Reminder Alerts are sent out based on the number of minutes before a shift is scheduled to start. For example, a 24 hour reminder could be sent out by setting a notification at 1440 minutes (24 hrs = 1440 minutes)
Note **Each time a user is listed to be notified in a shift reminder alert, they will receive a notification.
Set Default Reminders
If desired, every shift that is created can have up to 3 reminder alerts automatically enabled. In order to set the default reminders, go to Settings --> Scheduling --> Add Alert --> Set Default Reminder
Remind an employee to clock out
End of shift reminders can be set to remind employees to clock out, clock out employees at their scheduled end time, or auto clock out + flag employees who forget to clock out. See Schedule End Of Shift Reminders for more information.
