Learn how to manually add or edit clock events through the VeriClock web browser. This guide is especially useful for employees who need to update their timesheets with additional clock-in or clock-out data.
Manually creating clock events, or editing timesheets can be done from the Events tab in the VeriClock app (see How To Manually Add Time From Mobile App), or from a desktop computer from the Time>My Time Card tab (For managers, the tabs are: Time>Add Time Grid). Manually creating and editing time events may not be available in your account. Contact your account administrator to see if this option is available for you.
Using Add Time Grid
- Navigate to the correct week by clicking the arrows on each side of the date.
- Select a job if required.
- Select a service item if required.
- In the same row, click on the day grid square to add time to that day.
- If you need to add notes to a clock event, click on the grid square for the clock event you are adding notes to and type your notes into the Clock Out Report box.
- Click Save to save any changes before leaving the page.
- When clicking on a grid square, select your start/stop time in the edit shift popup. Depending on your account setup, you may be required to type in a duration instead.
Portion Out Daily or Weekly Time Per Task
- To portion out time spent on each task per day or week, click the Add button to add a new row for each task (job and/or service item).
- Below each day, the total hours per day are updated as each new clock event is added to that day.
- Hours per task are displayed at the end of each row.
- Total hours per week are displayed in the bottom right corner of the grid.
- Click the Save button to save any changes.
Resolving Errors
When clicking the Save button, any errors will be displayed in red text on the page, and saving any changes to your time will not be complete until each error is resolved.
Job is Required, Service Item is Required and Clock Report is Required are the most common errors that may occur when clicking the save button.
- To solve these errors, you will need to add a job and/or service item to the row/s containing any pink highlighted grid squares.
- If a clock report is required, then click on the pink grid square showing the error and add a clock report.
Another common error displays when there is a time conflict with an existing event. The red error message notes the date start/stop times of the original event that conflicts with the time you are trying to save.
- To resolve this error, you will first need to edit the original clock event by searching for it from the Time>My Activity tab, or the Events tab in the app. After you edit & save the original clock event, you will be able to return to your Time>My Time Card tab and re-enter your new clock event before clicking save.
A Custom Field validation error means that a custom field needs to be filled out for every pink highlighted cell giving an error.
- To resolve this error, click on a grid square and fill out the custom field, then click on the next grid square + fill out the custom field... Once any custom fields have been filled out for each pink grid square, try clicking the save button again.
