Option 1: Automatic or Scheduled Deductions
Automatic Deductions: Deduction is automatic-1 rule for all users.
This option is ideal if all employees clock in/out once per day. The deduction applies to all employees, for every shift.
Scheduled Deductions: Deduction is scheduled-multiple rule options applied to some or all users
Ideal for employees who clock in/out more than once per day and/or for deductions that apply to all or some employees. Deduction time is applied daily to all employees selected, for every shift, based on rule set. To set an individual job and/or service items as exempt from automatic or scheduled deductions, see Adding and Editing Jobs & Service Items for for more information.
For more information on setting Automatic Deductions or Scheduled Deductions: see here
Option 2: Break Custom Field
This option is ideal if employees are given the option of selecting how long they took a break for when clocking out. Can be used to allow employees to confirm whether or not they took a break and to select break length from list. Employees can also enter the length of their break (in minutes) or enter 0 if they didn't take a break during the applicable shift.
For more information on using the Break Custom Field, see here
Option 3: Realtime Lunch/Break Tracking
Ideal for tracking the actual lunch/break time an employee takes. Employee clocks into a lunch/break job when they leave for break, and clocks out when they return from break. This option gives real-time stamps to track actual lunch and/or break in/out time. Lunch/break job can be set to $0 rate and can be either excluded from payroll, or subtotaled in a separate report column.
For information on adding $0 pay rates for a lunch job, see here
Option 4: Activity Note Time Stamp: Real-time time stamp when leaving and returning from lunch/breaks
Ideal for employees to note when they leave and return from lunch/break with real-time stamp. This option does not deduct lunch/break time, and can be used with scheduled or automatic deduction for deduction to occur automatically while noting actual time taken.
For information on adding activity notes, see here
