Learn how to configure schedule no-show alerts in VeriClock. This guide explains how to set start-of-shift and end-of-shift no-show alerts, choose notification recipients and delivery methods, apply default no-show rules to all shifts, and distinguish schedule-based alerts from general no-show alerts for stronger attendance monitoring.
VeriClock users can create alerts to automatically notify employees, managers and admins if an employee (or group of employees) do not clock in for a scheduled shift.
To enable Scheduling in your account, go to the tabs Settings-->Scheduling-->check the box next to Enable Scheduling Feature-->click the blue Save button.
No Show Alerts - Start of Shift
When creating a shift, you can create an alert that will send a notification if one or more scheduled employees are not clocked in +/- 15 minutes from the scheduled start time.
To create the alert, click on the Add Alert --> No-Show link.
Each alert can be set with the following options:
- Select "No-show: Start of Shift"
- Require at least one employee to be clocked in or all employees to be clocked in at the start of the shift
- The time by which the employee must be clocked in (+/- 15 minutes from the scheduled start time)
- Choose who should receive the notifications
- The notification methods (Email, SMS, Notification to VeriClock account)
- Any special message you want to include in the notification (optional)
- Any additional people that should receive the alerts (optional)
Note **Each time a user is listed to be notified in a shift no show alert, they will receive a notification.
No Show Alerts - End of Shift
When creating a shift, you can create an alert that will send a notification if one or more scheduled employees are not clocked in at any time during the scheduled shift.
For example, for a shift that starts at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm
| Employee Clock In Time | Employee Clock Out Time | Does Alert send notification? |
| 8:00 am | 8:50 am | Yes |
| 8:45 am | 3:15 pm | No |
| 9:05 am | 3:45 pm | No |
| 11:30 am | 4:30 pm | No |
| 4:05 pm | 8:00 pm | Yes |
To create the alert, click on the Add Alert --> No-Show link.
Each alert can be set with the following options:
- Select "No-show: End of Shift"
- Require at least one employee to be clocked in or all employees to be clocked in at some point during the shift
- Choose who should receive the notifications
- The notification methods (Email, SMS, Notification to VeriClock account)
- Any special message you want to include in the notification (optional)
- Any additional people that should receive the alerts (optional)
Set Default No Show Alert
If desired, every shift that is created can have a default No Show Alerts automatically enabled. In order to set the default reminders, go to Settings --> Scheduling --> Add Alert --> Set Default No-Show
For more information on our schedule feature, see our Create a Shift guide and Edit a Shift guide.
**General No Show Alerts are also available, where you can set a general alert to notify you if ANY employee no shows or if no one shows for a job. General no show alerts are seperate from the schedule and will trigger based on the conditions set in the general alert rule. See Alerts - No Show for more information.**
