This guide explains how offline punches are captured when employees lose internet connectivity, how GPS and timestamps are stored, and where administrators can access synced offline records to ensure payroll accuracy and audit defensibility.
Learn how to identify and resolve time conflicts in VeriClock caused by overlapping offline and online clock in or out events. This guide explains how offline clock events are flagged, how to search for conflicted activity, why offline events are automatically removed when conflicts occur, and how to undelete or adjust time entries to ensure accurate timecards and payroll.
Offline Clock Events
This feature allows users to clock in and out from the app without data/ cell coverage or internet connection.
All offline time events are stored in the app as offline events. When the phone connects to the internet again, the users can sync events from their app. Syncing events in the app will upload all stored offline events to the employer’s account.
View Offline Events
To view time events, go to the tabs Time → Activity → select a Search Period → click the blue Search button. Any clock in or out that takes place while the user is offline, is marked by the [0] icon after the employee name. With the offline clock, the real-time clock in and out timestamp is stored in the app as it occurred, so that the time displays just like online events.
When offline events don't show in your account
If employee clock in and out time events have occurred but are not visible on the Time→ Activity screen, then the employee has not yet synced their events and may not yet be in an area with a data connection for them to sync their events to your account.
*The offline clock feature works when clocking in and out from the VeriClock app. Web browser clock in/out using internet access is not accessible when offline.*
