Learn how to identify and resolve time conflicts in VeriClock caused by overlapping offline and online clock in or out events. This guide explains how offline clock events are flagged, how to search for conflicted activity, why offline events are automatically removed when conflicts occur, and how to undelete or adjust time entries to ensure accurate timecards and payroll.
Time conflicts occur when an employee clocks in or out from the offline clock during the same time period that an online clock in or out event is created for that same employee. Online events include:
- Online app clock in/outs
- Web browser clock in/outs
- Manually created time events by an online employee/manager/admin
- Timeguard triggered auto-clock outs
Search For Offline Clock Events
To view all offline events that occurred in the specified search period, go to the tabs Time → Activity → enter a Search Period → click on Advanced Options → check the box next to Include Conflicted Offline Activity → the search can be narrowed down by employee, job or group if needed → click the blue Search button.
Conflicting Offline Activity
Offline clock events are marked with an [0] to the right of the employee name and are displayed the same as other clock in/out events, as long as no time conflict occurs. The offline clock feature allows time events to be stored in the app, with each event marked with the actual time the clock in/out occurred. These offline time events cannot be uploaded to your account until the user’s data connection resumes. This can cause conflicting events to occur if a clock in or out is completed online during the same shift an offline clock occurs. Offline events are always treated as the conflicting event when a conflict occurs. To resolve time conflicts, offline events are always automatically deleted and online events will remain active. When an event is deleted, the event will show as red with a line striking through.
Undelete A Time Event
To use a deleted event for payroll, you will first need to delete any events that will conflict. Next click on the event you wish to reinstate and click the red Undelete button.
When undeleting or saving an event, existing conflicts will be displayed with a red error message, until the conflict has been removed. To save, either delete the conflicting event first or adjust the conflicting start or stop time.
